The Evolution of Beloved Evergreens

Hello! My name is Allison Gilbert and I am so happy to share how this accidental business became one of the biggest blessings in my life. Beloved Evergreens started as a simple Facebook group in 2017, called Allison's Closet Clean Out. It was created to be a convenient way to purge some of my women's, maternity, and boy's clothing that no longer worked for my family, but still had so much life left. One weekend, I had two friends coincidentally message me the same request, "Please sell my stuff in your group, because I don't have the time or desire to do it". I loved the idea of having a new hobby that could also bring in a little income for my family, so I gave it a try. I hope they know how much that changed everything for me! 

I am a boy mom, but quickly started posting more women's sizes and my friend's little girl's clothes. With the broader options of clothing, it brought a natural growth in group membership. I was getting messages often, and soon started selling for friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends. Before I knew it, I was scheduling new drop-offs every 1-2 days. This led to an addition of "& Consignment" in the group title in 2020, since the items for sale were rarely from my closet anymore. 

It was evident that there was a significant need for our community to have access to quality brands at affordable prices, and for families to earn fair compensation to resell the clothes that they had invested in. In my heart, I knew this group was so much more than online shopping though. The women I was getting to socialize with were supportive, encouraging, fun, and honestly they started to feel like friends even though we've never met in person. 

In 2022, I changed the name one last time... to Beloved Evergreens. The name was chosen because evergreen trees maintain their beauty, color, and strength through all of the seasons. Women can experience changes in relationship status, pregnancy/family roles, careers, health/fitness, etc., and they should feel strong and beautiful through all of them. My mission and goal for this online shop is to build up the women around me. Shopping consignment can be just about finding items worthy of a new wardrobe, but for Beloved Evergreens...I hope to help you, find YOU. Thanks for being here! Your support means the world!
